Homecoming and Birthday Celebration

Alex celebrated his one year homecoming August 18th.  We took him to the airport to watch the planes.
Last week he celebrated his second birthday, September 16th.  He is changing so much everyday.  He is saying more words and gets quite frustrated with us when we don't know what he's saying.  As you can see in some of the pictures he really loves cake.  That is a word he doesn't have any problem saying.  He loved it so much Jon and I could barely stand beside him to take a picture.

Anniversary of Meeting Alex

June 19, 2008 marked the one year anniversary of meeting Alex.  We can't believe it's been a year since our first visit to Russia.  A lot has changed about Alex over the past year but those blue eyes and bright smile are still the same.

Summer Days

Summer has been hot but full of new adventures for us.  Alex still loves his sticks and watermelon has become one of his favorite things to eat.  It's fun seeing the excitement in his eyes with each new experience.

First Harvest

Alex helped his daddy pick the garden today.  He loaded up his wagon with thirteen squash and three zucchini.

Gardening

Alex has become quite the little gardener and outside helper.  He loves to pick flowers as you can see.  The problem is that he doesn't want to pick just our flowers.  While Jon was out of town he made sure we turned the sprinklers on and got the garden going.  We recently planted the garden and he enjoyed walking barefoot in the dirt.  He is Daddy's Boy on the weekend.  I thought the picture of him and Jon was so sweet.  He just walked up behind him and gave him a hug.  He might be the sweetest little fellow in the whole world.  At least he is to us, most of the time.

Rainy Day

We were finally able to get out today and play.  Alex had fun finding sticks, playing with Sunny, and dropping clay pots on one another.  The pots made a lot of noise which he enjoyed.

Alex's First Haircut

Alex had his first haircut this past Saturday.  He was excited to ride in the fire engine.  Once she started to cut his hair he decided it wasn't as much fun as he thought.  We managed to get some cut off the back and a little off the top.
